Parent Aide Services are utilized to ‘model’ parenting and
homemaking skills.  Services may include budgeting, teaching
emotional/intellectual/physical stages of child development,
helping make out grocery lists, preparing nutritious meals
within a defined budget.  Can also include teaching discipline
techniques, assessing safety of the home, hygiene, cleanliness
of the environment, and/or specific services requested by the
Division.  Qualified candidates possess a bachelor's degree in a
human services-related area of study, and experience working
with children.

Family Assistance Services offer a higher level of assistance,
including the following:  Provision of supervised parent-child
visitation,
transport to and from visitation, assisting a low-
functioning family with normal, daily living activities; accessing
community resources; shadowing a child to ensure safety; one-
on-one supervision of a child in a school setting if approved by
the case manager.
               
2. Parent Aides/Family Assistants



Job Description:
Provide STARS pre-service training, Spaulding adoption
training and Module training to eligible foster/adoptive
parents.  Assess prospective foster families’ competencies
throughout the pre-service training process.  Provide in-service
training to foster/adoptive parents with the approval of the
local state agency office.  Qualified applicants will have
received some or all of the following:
  • STARS Pre-Service Train-the-Trainer
  • Spaulding Train-the-Trainer
  • Module Training (all modules preferred)                   
Foster Parent Co-Trainer:  
Job Description:
Provide weekly individual, family, and couples counseling services to
populations served by our agency.  Background in work with the child
welfare system is helpful. Individuals interested in this position should
be self-starters, have excellent time-management and writing skills,
and be able to consistently provide sixty-day progress reports.  

Additional Duties:  
Provide home studies for families wishing to become licensed
foster/approved adoptive parents.  Applicants having received any or
all of the following training will be most desired!
  • STARS Pre-Service Train-the-Trainer
  • Spaulding Train-the-Trainer
  • Module Training (all modules preferred)
